Prof. John Mitchell

John is a Mary and Gordon Crary professor of Computer Science at Stanford University and director of the Stanford Computer Forum (http://forum.stanford.edu), an industrial affiliates program whose participants include a list of over 50 major companies, many of them in Silicon Valley. John has coauthored over 100 journal articles and 3 books in diverse areas of computer security including Access Control and Privacy Policy, Authentication and Identity Theft, and Network Security Analysis. Dr. Mitchell holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from MIT.

John is also co-director of the Stanford University Computer Security Laboratory that has developed an ambitious suite of publicly-available programs that combat phishing and password theft attacks. Password Hash (PwdHash), a technology developed by this group to help stop password theft won Computer World’s 2006 Horizon Award.



Prof. Dan Boneh

Dan is a faculty member in Computer Science at Stanford University and a successful entrepreneur in the field of computer security. Dan has specialized in the areas of computer security and cryptography and is editor of the Journal of Cryptography. He is a co-founder and board member of Voltage Security (www.voltagesecurity.com), a global leader in enterprise security management. Dan Boneh is also a co-director of the Stanford University Computer Security Laboratory.

Dan is author of more than 80 publications and has received numerous awards including the Packard Fellowship, the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, and the Terman award. In 2005, he was the recipient of the prestigious RSA Conference Award for Mathematics for his contributions to cryptography. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Princeton University.
